Configuration Manager R3 Beta now available

Microsoft announced the availability of System Centre Configuration Manager 2007 R3 Beta, the day before Earth Day 2010. This coincided with the Power Management features in the R3 release.
- R3 allows you to enter the cost per KwH (Kilowatt Hour) of energy in your area, and from this work out your Carbon Footprint or carbon emissions.
- With the updated R3 client you may determine computer pattern usage and configure the power management features in your Windows operating systems accordingly.
- Computers may be configured to power on in the middle of the night when they are not being used and check for Microsoft or third party updates, install and then power off. This saves energy, money.
